Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter Golden Lights-Review, Photos, Swatches

Company/Brand Claim: A unique formulation and shape of powder.

Result: I love golden highlighters because they suit my medium skin tone quite well and they look more glamorous as compared to white and pink ones. I bought the Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Golden Lights it has been much raved about in the blogosphere and wanted to try this out before I get my hands on the Benefit Sun Beam.

To begin with, the packaging is nice and sturdy. The container is huge and snaps open and close easily. I like the transparent lid as it makes it easier to spot in a box full of blushes. The product is baked in a wave like form and there's so much in there, that you won't need another one of these for a long time. The highlighter is not a deep golden tone. Upon looking at it you'll notice that it still has a slight white hue to it, but that doesn't bother me. I apply it using an angled brush on my cheek bones. It can also be used to highlight the bridge of the nose and the brow bone. It gives you a shimmery glow which is more noticeable under yellow lighting as compared to white lighting. If you want to take pictures with this on, I suggest you stand under or use yellow lights as it photographs beautifully then. Just be careful not to rub your face as the product will land on your hands. And since it isn't waterproof you'll need to reapply if it comes in contact with water. Overall, it stays on for a few hours and then begins to lighten, so you'll need to touch up.
